A collaborative 100-hour Somatics and Dance Teacher Training

with senior teacher Satu Tuomela and supporting teachers Agnes Jovaisa (sound extraordinaire) and Stina Strange Thue (professional dancer and choreographer).

  • Welcome to the radical movement of holding space for what ecstatic dance was essentially for! Further more, you will learn about dance pedagogics and history of dance.

  • We will orient back to the core of it: EMBODIMENT & TRANCE DANCE! You will learn to lead powerful Somatic Ecstatic Dances!

  • Also, the orientation toward DJING as the central aspect has stripped off somatic sensory explorations from the journeys. In this training, you will learn to create and hold space for somatic journeys to altered states of consciousness through our living bodies.

  • An exclusive 100h yoga alliance certified advanced Teacher Training module: DANCE.

  • You do not need previous experience from our trainings to join this one. Everyone is welcome but for a yoga alliance certification you would need to have a 200h already.

“Human beings need ecstatic trance. Trance states have played a vital and necessary role in human culture and in the shaping of human history, causing some anthropologists to label the attainment of these states the 'main need' of the 'ceremonial animal' that is the human being. Trance states traditionally help communities reinforce shared bonds, establish values, gain insight into the nature of reality, establish reciprocal relation with the natural world, and even heal. Yet in the modern world, trance states have been pathologized by both institutionalized religion and science, and ecstatic ritual has lost its centrality. “ (From Joshua Schrei )

Somatic Ecstatic Dance

To Dance is to Remember.

When held with integrity, dance becomes a threshold, a sacred place where we meet ourselves, soften our edges, and silence the inner critic. It is a living ritual, where music and movement unite in service of healing, community, and connection.

Across time and culture, indigenous traditions have honored dance as a gateway to spirit, Earth, and the unseen. Long before modern language, humans danced to pray, to grieve, to celebrate, to call the rains, to summon courage, and to mark transitions of life. Dance was, and remains, a ceremony. A communal heartbeat. A remembering of belonging.

In the circle, around fires, under stars, with drums echoing like the pulse of the land, people have always moved in rhythm with something greater. These traditions teach us that dance is not entertainment, it is embodied reverence. It is how the soul speaks through the body.

Ecstatic states have always fed the human spirit. In the dance, we remember: rapture, emotion, interconnectedness, and the vastness of our true nature. Without this access to embodied Truth, joy and release, we may seek ecstasy in ways that disconnect or harm, rather than heal.

The body longs to move, it is built for rhythm, for resonance, for release. Through somatically guided, intentional movement, we open ancestral pathways of expression and unlock each person’s unique, primal vibration.

Here, we dance not in isolation but in lineage, with those who came before and those yet to come.

We use somatization as our anchors. Our dances are not choreographed, but discovered. We let sensation lead and gravity catch us. We return to the body’s native language, instinctual, raw, real.

This is not performance.

This is not perfection.

This is remembrance.

This is Dance, as it wishes to be.

We dance.

What to expect and what you will walk away with

  • Foundational DJ & Soundscaping Skills

Basic DJ techniques for mixing tracks (including support with software and recorded guidance). This is PRERECORDED mostly and you can start immediately. Creating seamless transitions and intuitive set-building. Designing music journeys with intentional rise, plateau, and integration. Curating supportive soundscapes that are emotionally and somatically attuned, not just trendy or “cool.” Using music as an emotional and energetic language to guide a full-bodied experience.

  • Somatics & Embodied Facilitation

Understanding somatics and somatization, how the body mobilises, processes and releases stored sensation and memory. Using somatic principles to support us in accessing deeper presence and awareness. Moving beyond the DJ booth: learning to hold space through somatic sensing rather than control. Tuning in to the energy of the room and guiding from embodied presence, not performance. Facilitating from the body: becoming a vessel for transmission and trust.

  • Body-Based Tools for Movement Guidance

Body mapping: identifying physical and energetic entry points for movement. Leading rhythmic cues that awaken instinctual movement and expressive flow. Guiding from breath, gravity, and sensation. Offering verbal prompts that open the body’s intelligence.

  • Music Therapy & Sound as Medicine

Basic principles of music therapy and how sound impacts mood, memory, and the nervous system. Choosing music that supports emotional processing, trauma sensitivity, and group coherence but also challenges our capasity and grows it! Crafting soundscapes that hold people through vulnerability, catharsis, and return. We will also enjoy sound therapy sessions and Kirtans!

  • Ecstasy & Elemental Embodiment

Guiding dancers into ecstatic peaks with safety and intention, not overwhelm. Working with the elements (water, earth, fire, air/wind, space) as archetypal maps for movement journeys. Exploring animalistic embodiment, inviting primal, untamed, intuitive movement. Cultivating ecstatic states through breath, rhythm, repetition, and rooted freedom.

  • Facilitation with Integrity

Holding a safe, grounded, and clear energetic container. Building transmission trust and leading with presence, not performance. Developing your unique voice and style as a facilitator. Understanding the subtle art of when to guide, and when to get out of the way.

Authentic Flow Tribe Manifesto

As a community we have decided to make a statement. And as a teacher, guide and the founder of Authentic Flow Tribe I have found it very, very hard to teach without bursting into tears, and I'm not alone. Here is what we have to say: We, the members of the Authentic Flow community, seek to facilitate the recognition that all human beings - our brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, children and elders, ancestors and yet-to-be-borns - are interconnected and are, in fact, one indivisible Whole, known as Humanity. Insodoing, we promote practices designed to remind us of our connection to each other and our responsibilities to each other as co-creators of our collective reality. When we recognize each other as our very selves, we naturally abide in Love and are compelled to act in ways which nourish and protect the wellbeing of each other. We stand for the embodiment on earth of loving awareness and undivided unity. We stand for interconnectedness with nature and all life on Earth. We join article 1 of the Human Rights Declaration 1948: "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of community”. We stand by wisdom traditions such as non-dual Tantra and Buddhism, as well as animism that embrace a non-dual approach to our collective existence together. We seek to assist all humans, regardless of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, or ethnic group, to shed fear-based, "othering" as a way of thinking and acting, and to embrace the reality of our interdependence on and intimacy with all that is. We uphold non-violent means to bringing material conflicts to solutions promoting the wellbeing of all of humanity, thus furthering the universal recognition in ourselves and others, of our indivisible Whole and the Love that has been, is, and always will be revealed as the foundation and center of our existence.
