ABOUT THE RETREAT

There are places where movement feels inevitable.

Where the land itself invites the body to listen.

The oasis called Ardi, next to the Egyptian desert is one of them.

Here, surrounded by palm trees, dust, wind, and ancient silence and prayers, we gather. To feel what remains when effort falls away and the body is allowed to speak in its own language.

This retreat is an immersion into movement as devotion to the truth.

Into shaking, dancing, resting, and sensing as direct pathways into presence.

Over five full days, we step out of the roles and stories that usually organize our lives and enter a slower, deeper rhythm… one shaped by breath, sensation, gravity, MUSIC and the intelligence of the body itself.

Location

Located a Ardi Retreat Centre located in Dahshur, nestled in palm trees and overlooking the desert making it the perfect place to unwind and reconnect to nature. The name Ardi (meaning my land) was given with the intention that it belongs to each person who visits. Every guest is made to feel at home and is in turn asked to treat the land with the respect they would offer to their own home. They have a magnificent huge dome for our practices! By drawing from local culture, Ardi allows you to experience Egypt at its best. They offer deliciously satisfying vegan and vegetarian meals using the freshest ingredients sourced from the surrounding farms and prepared daily by their team of local women.

How to get there

Fly to Cairo.

To reach Ardi we suggest organising a taxi, this can be done by yourself or Ardi can recommend and organise transport to the retreat for you.

Another suggestion - reach out to others on the Discord group to see who has a similar arrival time and you can share a taxi.

The address for the location is as follows:

THE PRACTICE: DUST, BREATH, BODY

The work of this retreat is simple and profound. We move. We shake. We rest. We sound. We listen.

  • Through Shake the Dust, we awaken vitality, clear stagnation, and allow the body to discharge what it has been holding. A love affair of rhythm, repetition, release and trust.

  • Through Somatic Ecstatic Dance, we enter open, non-performative movement spaces where sensation leads, impulse guides, and the body is free to express without choreography or expectation.

  • Through rest and stillness, we allow integration… letting the nervous system settle, the breath soften, and awareness deepen.

  • Nondual wisdom is offered not as philosophy to be understood, but more as a felt orientation and direct realization — a recognition that land, body, movement, stillness, and awareness are not separate.

  • Emptiness is the ground from which movement arises… and to which it returns.

MOVING WITH THE LAND

  • Part of this journey includes moving beyond the practice space and into the sacred landscape itself.

  • We will visit the nearby pyramids rising from the desert.

  • To walk this land is to feel time differently. To let ancient structure meet softening bodies. To let the vastness outside mirror the vastness within.

WHO THIS RETREAT IS FOR

This retreat is for anyone who feels the call, whether clear or mysterious, to come back into the body.

You don’t need to be a dancer and you do not need to be “spiritual.” You only need a willingness to feel, move, and rest.

If you are longing to soften…

to let go of effort…

to be danced rather than doing the dancing…

You belong here.

With love,

Satu
